Programs « Delta Community Music School

We are Delta's non-profit music school. We are independently run by a volunteer Board of Directors who oversee the operation of the school.

We offer a variety of programs to the community ranging from private lessons in piano, guitar and most orchestral instruments, to group lessons and outreach elementary school band programs in Delta and Surrey. Our summer programs include the South Delta Jazz Festival which is held each July.

Programs at Delta Community Music School

Private Lessons – Performance:
The DCMS offers private one-on-one lessons in all band, orchestral instruments, voice, guitar, and piano. All age levels and ranges of ability – ages 5 – 85! Yes, an increasing number of adult students are taking lessons at the school in all instruments.

Music Theory:
Private instruction – preparation for Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations.
Rudiments through Grade V

Group Classes:

Suzuki Violin

Music Theory:
Group classes are offered for Music Theory when there is sufficient demand.

Jazz Ensembles:
The DCMS Jazz Ensembles provides students with an opportunity to rehearse and perform in a small jazz group. For more information, see the Jazz Ensemble page on our site.

Elementary School Band Program
The DCMS administers several band programs in both public and private elementary schools. Programs include Sunshine Hill Elementary (North Delta), St. Bernadette’s Catholic School (Surrey), and Sacred Heart School (Ladner)
