Thursday night (Dec 22) An Evening of Music with Kate Yahn…a fundraiser for our Delta Community Music School, with Stephen Robb on piano, Tracy Neff, Natasha D’Agostino...and other musicians playing and singing… do come! The concert features music from the Theatre and Broadway Stage.
Doors open at 7, show 7:30. $10 at door.

Funds raised are going towards scholarships and bursaries for programs at the Delta Community Music School.

Kate Yahn is a recent graduate from Delta Community Music School and South Delta Secondary. She has been a recipient of both our DCMS scholarship awards and our Kennell Scholarship.  She is now studying voice and Music Theatre in Toronto, Ontario.

Our next Student recital is coming up this Sunday February 28th – 2pm at All Saints Anglican Parish next to the school.  Students can sign up through their teacher.

We are looking for photographs from student performances that we can use for our website and social media. If you have photos that you would like to share with us, please pass them along!

 

african_hand_drummingThere will be an African drum circle here at the DCMS on Friday January 8th  7:30 – 9:00 in the back room here at the Delta Community Music School,  4705 Arthur Drive, Ladner.  The entrance is via the side door with the ramp.

Bring your own djembe.  The cost is $15 non-refundable paid in advance by 6:00 Wednesday January 6th.  If we have 6 people paid by then, the class will run.  If not, your cheques will be returned.  The drop in fee is $20 cash or cheque made out to  the DCMS.

The office will be closed from Friday Dec 18th until it reopens on Monday January 4th  at 1:00.  Someone will be chequing the mailbox over the holidays and bringing mail  in to the office. 

The Delta Community Music School is Closed from Friday, October  23 until Sunday, November 2, 2015,  for the annual Corporation of Delta Haunted House and Family Fright Night.  Drama Students from South Delta Secondary School in Tsawwassen stage this annual event at the McKee Heritage House, which is owned by the Corporation of Delta.

There are no lessons or classes scheduled for this time as we do not have the resources to secure other facilities in the community and Corporation of Delta no longer provides them for us during the ten days when we do not have access to the building.
