Kick off Halloween at Family Fright Fest, a free family event at Delta Community Music School and other facilities in the area. Please note that 47th Avenue will be closed between Arthur Drive and 51st Street from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm to ensure the safety of all participants and for street activities which will include live music, popcorn, hay rides, crafts, Delta’s Fire House and more.

McKee House Concert Series

Our first House Concert at the McKee Heritage House will be Sunday November 20th at 2:30 pm featuring Ridley Bent

Tickets are $20 per person and are available for online purchase here

This will be an intimate “house concert” setting featuring nine time BC Country Music Award winnter Ridely Bent with Chris Dunn on Guitar and vocals.  Seating is limited to a total of just 40 tickets!

One of our Local Musicians and music educators Brenda Koo  is starting a new Concert Band program for adult students who want to start a band instrument with now previous experience. This is not a music school program, but it might be of interest to people in our community looking for this sort of  opportunity.

Who: Aspiring adult concert band musicians
What: learn to play a woodwind, brass, or percussion concert band instrument (and how to read music)
Where: Delta Secondary Music Room, Ladner
When: 7:30 – 9:30 Sept 14 and Oct 5 – Dec 7
Why: it is never too late to learn how to ‘blow your own horn’

Cost: $70 for 10 two hour sessions (information night is free on Sept 14 – attendance is highly encouraged)

For more experienced players Delta has two adult concert bands that service our area.  They are Curt Jantzen’s Delta Music Makers which rehearses in Ladner  and the Delta Concert Band which rehearses in North Delta.
