Our annual Scholarship Recital and competition is coming up on Sunday April 25th at 2pm at the school. Our adjudicator this year will be Dr. Barrie Barrington from Douglas College.

Application forms will be available this week at the school , or can be downloaded from a link at the bottom of this article and must be returned to the office by Thursday April 15th. A fee of $15 is required to offset the costs of hiring the adjudicator.  This concert is open to the public and is intended to be a “music festival” kind of experience. All performances will be adjudicated and written comments are provided to each student.

There are two age categories, students 12 years and younger, and students ages 13 – 21 years as of January 1st, 2010 may participate. Students must be recommended by their teacher to participate.  Only students with previous performances experience may enter, this is not an appropriate concert for “first time ” performers.  You can always enter next year after you get some experience.

There are scholarship awards that will go to the top two students in each category.  Those names are also added to our awards plaque which is kept a the school.  students interested in being considered for the Kennel scholarship for post secondary studies in music should also participate in this recital.
