Welcome back to Ellen!  Ellen will be taking over from Fred Chu with our Saturday violin studio!

Ellen taught at the Delta Community Music School 13 years ago and 12 years ago began teaching at her home studio. In those years, she has had the opportunity to coach chamber groups with the Delta Youth Orchestra, the Surrey Youth Orchestra, and the Vancouver Youth Orchestra. Ellen has also conducted string programs at Semiahmoo Secondary School and with the Surrey Youth Orchestra. For the past 20 years, her playing experience has included orchestras such as the Toronto, Vancouver and Abbottsford symphonies as well as the Canadian Opera Orchestra, the Vancouver Opera, the CBC Radio Orchestra and North Shore Sinfonia.
Ellen uses teaching materials from Shinichi Suzuki, C.P. Herfeurth (A Tune A Day) and the RCM Exam books. Ellen strives to encourage a life long love of music in all children, regardless of abilities.

The next open drum circle will be Friday Aug 5, 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. in the back room at the DCMS.    We need 6 people registered by 6:00 on Wednesday Aug 3 to confirm if it will run or not.

$15 non-refundable if paid in advance.  $20 at the door.

Cash or cheques only made out to DCMS.

Enter via the side door with the ramp on drumming nights only.  Otherwise that door is locked and you must come to the front door.  You may leave your cheque in the mailbox on the front porch if the office isn’t open when you come.
