Cedapresents the Ovation Performance Series featuring tthe faculty of the Delta Community School in Concert. Presenting a variety show of musical styles from light classical chamber music through to musical theatre and jazz!

Featuring Tracy Neff (voice), Stephen Robb (clarinet and piano), John Littlejohn, Fred Chu, Sarah Westwick (violin), Bo Peng (cello), John Walsh (bass), Christopher Robertson (trumpet), Kris Bowerman (trombone), Cheryl Carruthers, Bernie Duerksen, Suzanne Klukas, Garth Preston (piano).

All proceeds will to towards student scholarships and bursaries for students at Delta Community Music School.

Delta Community Music School welcomes Spirit of the West’s front man and songwriter John Mann. After 11 albums and countless tours of the UK, Europe and North America with Spirit, John takes the solo stage with material from his albums, December Looms and Acoustic Kitty.

Mann pens beautiful melodies with emotionally honest lyrics that capture the intimate moments of his hometown of Vancouver, its occupants, the fragile details of their dysfunctional love and the loss of a city’s innocence. John Mann recently starred in the Arts Club Theatre production of Blood Brothers.

This will be our second house concert of the season, after our very successful first concert with Ridley Bent last November. Purchase tickets soon so that you are not disappointed!

1) Jazz at Petra’s Arts Kafe – Wednesday Dec. 21st
Our Jazz Ensembles are performing at Petra’s Wednesday Dec. 21st from 7 – 9pm.. Come out and check out some sounds of the season with our student Jazz groups under the direction of Brad Muirhead . Petra’s Arts Kafe 1200 56 St. Tsawwassen (604-943-0409)

2) Triple Threat with Tracy Neff
Second term of our music theatre course resumes on Monday January 16th at the Music School. Contact the school office for registration.

3) Jazz Ensembles with Brad Muirhead
We are accepting new students into the program for January! Tuesday evenings at the Music school. Contact the school for details, you will have a short audition for Brad to determine group placement.

4) McKee Heritage House Singer/Songwriter Series.
Our first concert in the series was on November 20th with Ridley Bent and was very successful as the event sold out a week in advance. Our Series continues with Concert No. 2 set for Sunday February 12th, 2012 at 2:30pm featuring John Mann from Sprit of the West. Online ticket sales will open in January. Stay tunred for more info.

5) Meat Draw fundraisers at Ladner’s Landing
Our series of monthly meat draws continues at Ladner’s Landing. Our next dates are January 21, February 11th, and March 17th. Our board of directors is looking for volunteers to help with this, we need 2 – 3 people to help with each of these. Please contact the school office or Pat Rogers if you can help out. Please mark these dates on your calendars and come out and support the music school!

6) Holiday Office Hours
Our school office closes Thursday Dec. 22 at 3pm and opens again at 1pm on Tuesday January 3, 2012
